If you read one thing this week
- The “assisted” in ADR is you, not a tool. ACs and SCs assist the papers chairs in deciding a paper should not go to external review.
- The rubric is not AI. It is a web page that stores nothing and helps you structure a fast assessment.
- ADR asks one question: should this paper go out for external review? It is not a judgement on whether it will be accepted — that comes after the reviews are in.
- A paper that says nothing about ethics approval is not a desk reject.
- You have up to 15 papers, and about a week to identify DR and ADR candidates. Budget roughly 15 minutes per paper, more if you are a less experienced AC.
